The “Emmaus Road Revelation” is a powerful revelation every follower of Jesus must pass through if they are to become all God destines them to become. It is mandatory that every disciple experience this revelation in order to rise to their next level of ministry and effectiveness. It happened to Christ’s first followers during the forty days after His resurrection, it is no less what Jesus is doing today in our lives as well.

In the Gospel of Luke chapter twenty-four we find two very disappointed and disillusioned disciples of Jesus traveling from Jerusalem to a village called Emmaus. Unmoved by the recent news of Jesus being alive, these two unconvinced disciples encountered something they did not expect… a “fresh revelation of Jesus” that would change their lives forever. It was a revelation that changed their fearful and doubting hearts into fearless and unshakable hearts. It’s a revelation that will do the same for you and me today.

As I continue my teaching series entitled “Believe”, I will share the details of this incredible revelation experience and how the Lord Jesus is active in our lives in much the same way as He was in the lives of those two disciples who walked the road to Emmaus that day. We will discover how the Lord Jesus recaptured their heart and excitement again. I will share how we too can experience a “fresh revelation of Jesus” and how He will restore in us any love lost, any boldness diminished, any call unfulfilled or any power unrealized in our walk with Him.

God Bless You,

As a disciple of Jesus Christ, one must be willing to be challenged by the Lord on many different levels of obedience, the most vital of which is love. For forty days after His resurrection Jesus had one objective in mind, recapture the heart, love and devotion of His closest disciples. This was no easy task.

In one of the most poignant moments in the entirety of the Bible, Jesus challenges his strongest leader, Simon Peter on the deepest levels of heart-felt love for Christ and His mission. Everything Jesus planned for Simon Peter’s future and ministry hinged on his answer to Jesus’ question, ‘Do you love Me?’The fact is everything Jesus has planned for you and me hinges on the answer to the same question, “Do you love Me?” Any disciple who desires to follow the Lord Jesus will, without question, be challenged on their deepest levels of love just as Simon was that day on the sea shore. Fortunately, we see the results of fully embracing such a challenge. Simon the fisherman became Peter the Apostle.

This Sunday as we continue our series, “Believe” I am going to share how Jesus helped His first disciples rid their hearts and minds of lingering doubt and fear of man and half-hearted commitment to Christ. We will see how Jesus challenged Peter on his deepest levels of love and service to Him. Not one of Christ’s disciples, through-out the ages, has by-passed this powerful, tender and life-transforming challenge from the Lord. Some have failed miserably over the centuries because they loved other things more. Still others, like Simon Peter embraced the challenge to believe, love and obey and were changed forever. It is our turn to embrace the challenge now. Everything hinges on our answer. Everything! See you Sunday.

Blessings,

After His resurrection the Scriptures say, “Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples…” (John 20:30). This is a very powerful and life-transforming truth that reveals the loving way the Lord worked with His first disciples to rid their heart of all doubt and compromise concerning who He was and all He was helping them become.

During the forty day period after His resurrection, we see Jesus, layer by layer, peeling away the fear, doubt, disappointment and unfulfilled expectation of His disciples. We see how He turned their “timid hearts” into “lion-hearts”. We see how He was shaping them and empowering them to be true disciples. Beloved, I am convinced He will not relent until He makes you and me into the same caliber of disciple they were. Even now, He is peeling away things that hinder us in our faith and love toward Him. Truly, Jesus is doing “Many signs in the presence of His disciples” today to convince us of who He is and what He is helping us become. It only took the first disciples forty days to be fully persuaded they could change their world. The question is, how long will it take you and me to be fully persuade we can change our world? It all depends upon how teachable and convincible our heart is.

Over the next several weeks, we are going to study some Biblical accounts of Christ’s interaction with His first disciples after His resurrection. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father (John 14:12). The “greater works” that Jesus spoke of could never have happened until the “greater work” was first done in their heart. Join me this Sunday as we allow Jesus to convince us more fully of who He is and of who He wants us to become.

God Bless You,

Dear Friends,

Please join me and others from the LifeChurch family as we honor the Lord Jesus by dedicating the Sanctuary with 7 Days of Prayer beginning at 6:00 am Monday morning (Tomorrow April 5th).

I want to fill every hour in the new Sanctuary (or new Prayer Room) with Prayer Warriors for the next 7 days (from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) so, come when you can and leave when you have too. The doors will be open for your convenience.

Work is continuing on the building, so only adults are permited during working hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday). We will alternate between the Sanctuary and the Prayer Room as necessary each day due to the ongoing work. This will also be a great chance for us to pray for the workers as they finish the job over the next 7 Days.

Also, I am in the process of scheduling a “Dedication Service” of the New Building once all construction is over. If you are unable to make our 7 Days of Prayer, please continue to pray as we move forward in faith and humility to do the work of God in this place.

God Bless You,

In the book of Revelation, a book we equate with God’s future judgment and restoration in the earth, we read a short verse of scripture that gives us a glimpse into the heart of the Lord Jesus, “Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). No matter what you are going through right now, God’s plan in the end is to make something good and new out of it.

I believe the Lord loves to lead us into the “new things” He creates for us. When we follow Jesus with all our heart, our darkest and most painful trials in life often give way to the “new life” of God’s plan and purpose for us. The Prophet Isaiah said, “Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. Now, it shall spring forth and shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19).

This Sunday, as we celebrate the Lord’s resurrection, we will study the powerful and loving way He made the “new and living way” (Hebrew 10:20) real to His first disciple after His resurrection and how He is doing the same for you and I today. The apostle John put it like this, “The darkness has past and the true light now shines” (I John 2:8). On this resurrection Sunday, I pray any dark trial you are going through would pass away and the “new thing” He has ordered for you would break forth like the dawn of a new day. He will not leave you in your dark trial forever. He has come with new life and light. He has come to do a “new thing” for you today.

God Bless You,
